Description
Royal Irish Constabulary handcuffs, c.1900
Made by British manufacturer 'Hiatt'.
Known as the "Irish 8", these represented a higher degree of security over the regular cuffs as there was no movement afforded the prisoner's hands.
The original key is absent but it is possible another Hiatt key might open these. Otherwise very suitable for collection or museum display.
Dimensions: 13 x 8 cms
Purchased in Cavan.
