Description

We were fiercely proud of our National Airline. The fact that air travel was beyond the reach of most ordinary citizens did not hinder our pride when the graceful swan soared over the green fields of a Free Ireland. The first Dublin to Liverpool flight left the newly built Collinstown Airport (as it was known then) in January, 1940. During WW2, services were suspended, however the Dublin to Liverpool route remained in place.
