Description

He was born the year the GAA was founded in 1884 and perhaps that was a sign of things to come. The famous Fitzgerald Stadium is named after one of Kerry's greatest ever football players, Dick Fitzgerald. He captained Kerry for their All-Ireland titles in 1913 and 1914. After his death in 1930, there was a campaign to honour him and thus, 'Fitzgerald Stadium' was named after him.
