Dublin Tram's

Dublin Tram's
Dublin's trams, like trams elsewhere, before the arrival of electricity, were driven, or rather pulled, by horses. It gives an idea of the strength of horses, plus the lack of concern for their welfare, that a tram, which in itself was weighty before the weight of people was added, could be pulled by just two horses. The design of the trams, with their curved stairs to the top deck, and their entrance at the back, was later reflected in the design for doubledeckerbuses.
