Happy Bloomsday!

Happy Bloomsday!
Happy Bloomsday! Bloomsday is a celebration which takes place both in Dublin and around the world. It is a celebration of the life of James Joyce during which the events of his novel Ulysses (which is set on 16 June 1904) are relived. The day is named after Leopold Bloom, the central character in Ulysses. The novel follows the life and thoughts of Leopold Bloom and a host of other characters, real and fictional, from 8am on 16 June 1904 through to the early hours of the following morning. Joyce chose the date as it was the date of his first outing with his future wife, Nora Barnacle, who together on this day walked to the Dublin suburb of Ringsend.
