Description
Dinner on Titanic. An ominous last menu.
A meal together is a significant thing no matter what culture you come from on this fragile planet of ours. Where two or more people are gathered around a table to partake of a meal, a certain bond exists for that fleeting period as they share their thoughts, renew old bonds or forge new ones. A last meal conjures up many situations in our minds..Each to his or her own thoughts. Eating heartily and not knowing it’s your last meal is a different matter altogether.
Ominous to read that this is the last menu for the 2nd Class passengers on the fateful night of April 14, 1912. What must they of talked over this dinner? Hopes, dreams, aspirations and more in their New Life in America. Still, it was a grand fare, unlike their poor Steerage cousins who may have gone down that night with only bread and butter in their stomachs. And don't you notice how much the menu differs to that of the First Class Menu. But In the end the sea turned out to be the great equaliser. May they all rest in peace.
