Superb protest poster from May 1891 showing a fine patina of times gone by. The event was organised by the Gasworkers Union and the Dublin Trades Council in April 1891. The Demands: An eight hour day for the workingman. A show of solidarity is required from all trades to assemble at Beresford Place at 3 o'clock sharp. The march will be six deep from Beresford Place on to O'Connell Bridge, Westmoreland Street, Dame Street, Thomas Street, Steven Street and on to The Phoenix Park for a mass meeting in The Nine Acres.
