Kate Bush. Born in Kent along with older brothers Paddy & John to Robert Bush and his Irish wife Hannah Daly from Waterford. Her mother was an accomplished traditional Irish dancer and her father was an accomplished pianist. Both brothers were involved in the local folk music scene. Her family's musical influence inspired Kate to teach herself the piano at the age of 11 and study the violin. She soon began writing her own songs. Following being spotted by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd she was signed and made her debut with 'Wuthering Heights' as attached. She spoke last year: "I'm incredibly proud of being half-Irish. I really wanted to get that Irish blood in me to come through, so I worked very hard on it."
