I think this old photo of a shop in Newmarket Square is amazing. Thanks to Richard Dowling who supplied the following information. The shop was run by Sue Hendricks, she was also well known in connection with 'a diddly or two' in the Coombe, Meath street and Dublin 8 area. The lane way with cottages beyond the shop was known as little Gibraltar...she sounded like an interesting lady, that is probably her standing in the doorway. John's Lane in the distance...
