Description
A fascinating item. “Transcript of Register for Transmission to Registrar - General of Shipping and Seaman”. Dated 25th of March 1912 a few weeks before Titanic set sail. It details tonnage, dimensions, provisions, number of decks, the name and address of builders and lots of other interesting information. It is particularly interesting because of the writing in red over the document. The ominious words: 'vessel wrecked’, the form updated and signed off on the 3rd of June 1912, two months after its tragic sinking.
The Titanic was built in Belfast. It's last port of call was in Cobh, Co. Cork in the south of Ireland.
