Made famous by Back to the Future and Marty McFly. Only 9000 were ever produced. It was marketed as a luxury sports car,, but it has a severely underpowered engine and is painfully slow. It is also difficult to keep clean and the stainless steel panels require constant polishing. The design was unusual and exotic for the 80's, but otherwise the car was a disaster. The company went bust in 1981 and the founder John DeLorean was charged with cocaine trafficking in 1982.
