This is a view our parents, grandparents and more would have looked out to from Nelsons Pillar. The Pillar stood on O'Connell Street (formerly Sackville Street) from 1808 - 1966. A pence or two was paid to climb the 168 spiral steps to a platform which gave a birds eye view of the city. A rarely seen view for people of an age who have only heard of the pillar.
